Until We Meet Again
A Tale from the Time of New Worlds for 5 players
The Blasphemer's Tale
It's been ten frelling years since Rustbeard and the other renegade First Contact Team of the The Unconventional Introduction found this gleemic world. Captain "Rustbeard" trusted you then, as an anthropologist who understood what primitive cultures valued.
The Gennai were innocent and trusting. They wallowed in Rustbeard's description of the Holy Fleet, making it their new cause, to the point where the renamed their planet "The World We Will Leave." This just amused the entire crew no end, yourself included. You were so pathetic.
This sector of space was rich with pre-hyperdrive cultures, civilizations you were supposed to leave alone. Your mission was to scout far ahead of the Fleet, to find contactable civilizations, and to negotiate peaceful passage. Not every culture appreciated the appearance of a huge armada in their region of space.
Instead, you were tasked with finding the unique art and treasures of worlds the Fleet would pass by. The crew of The Unconventional Introduction would steal those artifacts, caching them here on Gennai Prime. The goal was to collect enough so that you could buy a thriving world along the way, living in splendor with Fleet Tech and stolen wealth.
You were fine with that until Rustbeard got bored. They started seeing how far they could push the Gennai for the chance to join the Fleet. It started small, but now it's cannibalism, torture, and more, which the Gennai do willingly.
Rustbeard caught you trying to send out a distress signal to the Fleet, with an encrypted log of all the crimes committed against the Gennai. You were stunned, strapped to a medical scanner, and surgically altered. Normally, your android stomach would be able to eat just about anything to provide the power you need to live. Not any more.
They dumped you a thousand klicks away from the Gennai you knew, leaving you to starve, die, and rot.
