A Tale from the Time of Virtual Existence for 5 players

The decision to join the virtual humans is not one that should be taken lightly; it's a one-way trip. Most people take it when they are dying. A few, however, choose to join virtual space just to experience it, to have more time to do research, to understand more, earlier.

Elriot, a young teenager, is one of these people. Already, Elriot is one of the foremost physicists of the time. Elriot wants to upload to virtual space.

Elriot is quite young for upload, and many want to make sure that Elriot does not make the wrong decision. Elriot's virtual great great grandparent, Graeyam, Elriot's parent, Krasten, Graeyam's friend Harel, and Elriot's friend Alix have gathered to discuss this decision, in a holodeck on the Fleet ship Meeting of the Minds.

The scene ends when Elriot and Krasten make the final decision of whether or not Elriot will upload. They have to agree in order for Elriot to upload.
