Your story

You are an ongoing symphony of robotics. You are a creation in the pursuit of something greater. You are constantly being reworked and remade, each iteration inches closer to the goal. And yet, you are tremendously unhappy. The Fleet offers everything one could ever want, and you have tried all sorts of things to find something to make you happy, but nothing has really stuck. You have decided that the problem with infinite possibilities is that there are just so many things to try, the chance of getting it right quickly is small.

Your friends have been on Ephostea for a couple of days now in anticipation of the Technological Singularity. You're looking forward to it; it's a strange occurrence that is undeniably fascinating. But you fear that this is actually more than that, that some of your friends are actually considering Abstract Existence. This is surely a mistake on their part. None of you have really figured out what you want to do for yourselves yet, but that dissatisfaction with the Fleet has not resulted in any meaningful change up to this point. While you are dissatisfied with your situation, you seek to change it here. You can work with the mechanisms provided to you to eliminate the feeling of "Otherness" that plagues your friends ‐ you can find something here, or on any of the thousands of worlds you pass. After all, if you aren't satisfied with the infinite at your fingertips, you never will be. With iteration, perfection is possible. And for you, perfection means completeness in the Fleet.

On the less contemplative side of this, you'd miss any of your friends terribly if they left you. Your life is made richer by the presence of people who understand you, even if they are not perfect. Even if you are a bit annoyed about this meeting...

Ever since your friends Jourdain and Nerve-7 got together however long ago, you've been a third wheel, which is a silly phrase because you only have two. You're not exactly a fan of this situation, but you're glad you get to be included. At least Uv'ols and Allai will be there too, they're both more considerate, but you are sure they're seriously considering this. You cannot let your friends leave you. If you all stay, you can make things better for yourselves. You have to try.

Goals:

  1. Convince your friends to stay in physical and virtual existence. The Abstract is not worth it.
