Your story

There is beauty in the unknown. Not knowing is something so fleeting these days that you treasure it. The Fleet knows nearly everything already, and it bores you. Life is a pursuit of knowledge, but the journey to it is always more interesting than the destination, in your opinion. But the unknown isn't always good; you're smart enough to understand that. Not knowing is a thrill, but it's a thrill that can make you make dumb decisions and wind up with disastrous consequences. These two beliefs coexist in you, which makes things a bit difficult.

You honestly have absolutely no idea if you want to ascend to Abstract Existence tonight. On one hand, it's a beautiful unknown, and you have never been satisfied with life as it stands, and you don't know if you ever will be. But on the other, you have so, so much more time to figure it out. It's a shame that this particular Technological Singularity is happening now, so early in your lifespan. You cannot possibly know what the future holds for you, and that in and of itself is a beautiful thing. You cannot know if ascending is the right choice, and you never will. It is, quite literally, beyond your comprehension.

You have about fifteen minutes to decide, and you're incredibly grateful your friends are here to help you do that. Mostly, you care about the opinion of Nerve-7, your partner whom you're deeply infatuated with, though you don't know if they have any thoughts on the matter. You won't base your whole decision on whether or not they go, but it'd be nice to stay together. Your friends Tobor, Allai, and Uv'ols may also have valuable input, and you'd be perfectly happy if any of them went with you. Being completely alone seems... unpleasant.

But you aren't looking for an excuse to go ‐ you are genuinely undecided. There's plenty for you here, and, even if it's not perfect, you could make it work. Who knows, maybe you just need some counseling and that's all it will take to get you where you want to be. But that's never a guarantee, and the clock is ticking.

Goals:

  1. Decide if you want to ascend to Abstract Existence. You should ask your friends what they think.
