The Invited Races and their Costuming
The native peoples involved in the Coterie come from a multiverse of styles. These are some of the Coterie races known to be invited to the Klorn Telling of Tales, and how they usually dress.
The Aaq
The Aaq come from watery worlds, and their clothing reflects the flowing greens and blues of that environment. They live life on the oceans, on ships skating between archipelagos and islands. Pearls and decorative flowers are always worn in some form.
The Chern
The Chern are a formal people, living in a monarchy filled with pomp and circumstance. Chern clothing is fancy, period, and reflects the wearer's station in society - or the station that they would like to have others believe they hold. The Chernovium, their Royal Court, is a pageant of gowns and uniforms, ostentatious and frequently overdone.
The gNiv
The gNiv civilization is a rich world, advanced, cosmopolitan, liberal and welcoming. The gNiv live in a melting pot and their mode of dressing is very ethnically diverse and wonderfully patterned. Solid colors are never seen and are frowned upon. Males prefer grids, stripes and brightly colored line patterns. Females adore dotted patterns, abstract shapes and undulating lines of fantastically electric rich colors.
The Goshan
The Goshan people have a tradition of service to their worlds and to others. They are trained to serve in their military at an early age. Even those who no longer serve still carry themselves in a military manner. Their uniforms are brown, in dark earthen tones or in lighter khakis. Most Goshans prefer these colors in some form of clean and neat almost-uniform long after they leave their service.
The Humans
Humans like their spandex jackets and lycra. Many Humans wear shades of blue in homage to the blue planet of Humanity itself. The look is very 'spiffy and tidy', almost a standard space uniform. Humans almost always have the Terran globe, the image of their homeworld, on their dress somewhere.
The Ma!son
The Ma!son love their high-collared cloaks and dramatic flowing robes. Often in deep reds and crimson tones, they are as assured in their fashion sense as they are of their understanding of technology and space.
The Pawo
Dress is almost secondary to a Pawo. It's the hair that's primary. Whether it's the fancy and styled beards and mustaches on the men, or the long and intricate styles on the women, it's the hair that really counts.
The Rh€'aaa
The Rh€'aaa are very practical and logical. Styles are simple, clean, and sharp. Colors are frowned upon, and most dress in whites or shades of light gray.
The Segalli
The Segalli are mad about purple. From their wild hats to their stylish boots, they love to mix and match shades of purples. They are not shy about some of their combinations. They also love their capes.
The Thaad
The Thaad prefer to dress in comfortable and workable clothes. Thaad leaders frequently dress in simple and plain robes of office. There is always some symbol of the Light present, whether it is the orange or yellow in the clothing, or some star-like symbol around their necks.
The Vasræ
The Vasræ style reflects their extended families and their extended histories. The Vasræ dress in a countryfolk manner. Females have their prairie skirts, full and flouncy. Shirts have lots of ruffles, with stripes or polka dots. Males have taken to wearing great and billowy poofy shirts and drawstring pants. Clothes are to have fun in. Just because you have enough technology to explore space doesn't mean you have to wear tight-fitting and uncomfortable clothes.
The Vim
The Vim are rarely seen outside of Klorn space. They are often garbed in black.
The Wirtan
The Wirtan find nothing too blatant. If it shines or sparkles, it must be worn. Silver mylar and shiny accoutrements are practically required. Gold is frequently found threaded in dense patterns in their clothes, and gemstones are worn on rings and jewelry.
